Honoring Clive Through Room 423 Bibles

This April, we’re honored to do something especially meaningful.
For every bar of Clive’s Soap sold during the month of April, $2 will be donated to Room 423 Bibles in Clive’s memory.
At Ella’s Soapbox, we believe simple things can carry deep meaning. A handmade bar of soap may seem small, but when it helps support a ministry like Room 423 Bibles, it becomes part of something much bigger: comfort for families walking through fear, grief, and the unknown.
Room 423 Bibles is a ministry of Connexion Church in Danville, Illinois. Its mission is to place Jesus Storybook Bibles into the hands of chaplains, children’s hospitals, hospitalized children, and grieving families, offering hope in some of life’s darkest moments.
The ministry’s story is deeply personal.
Room 423 Bibles began after friends of the George family, Jeff and Tiffany Nardoni, spent time in hospital room 423 with their 5-year-old son, Thao. During that season, a Jesus Storybook Bible became a source of truth and comfort for their family. Years later, Rachel and her husband found themselves in that same room with their 5-week-old son, Clive Samuel George, who was critically ill. There, they read to him, sang to him, and held onto the hope of Jesus while sitting beside him in the hospital. Clive died on June 6, 2015, after living just five weeks.
Out of that sorrow, something beautiful was born.
At Clive’s funeral, Jesus Storybook Bibles were shared with grieving families, and a memorial fund was established in memory of Clive and Thao. That simple act of love grew into Room 423 Bibles, a ministry that has since blessed hundreds of families facing hospitalization, grief, and heartbreak.
That is why this April fundraiser matters so much.
When you purchase a bar of Clive’s Soap, you are doing more than supporting a small business. You are helping extend comfort to families who may be sitting in hospital rooms right now, desperate for peace, strength, and something steady to hold onto. According to Room 423 Bibles, donations help cover the cost of purchasing and shipping Bibles, and the ministry says that every $10 donated covers one Bible sent to a family in need.
Clive’s memory is woven into this mission in a powerful way. His life, though heartbreakingly brief, continues to point others toward hope. Supporting Room 423 Bibles in his memory is one small way to honor that legacy and help bring light to families walking through hard places.
So this month, every purchase of Clive’s Soap carries an extra purpose.
It supports a ministry born from love.
It honors a precious child remembered well.
And it helps place hope into the hands of families who need it most.
Thank you for helping us remember Clive in a way that gives back.
