Welcome to Ella’s Soapbox. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Ella’s Soapbox website, online shop, subscription offerings, products, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By visiting our website, placing an order, purchasing a product, or purchasing a subscription from Ella’s Soapbox (“Ella’s Soapbox,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced on our website.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and Use of the Service
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to make a purchase through our website. By using the Service, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the operation of the website or related systems, or use the Service in violation of any applicable law.
2. Products and Product Information
Ella’s Soapbox offers soap, skincare, personal care, and related products. We make reasonable efforts to describe our products accurately, including ingredients, sizes, scents, colors, packaging, and availability.
Because some of our products may be handmade, small-batch, naturally derived, or seasonally produced, slight variations in color, appearance, texture, weight, scent, and packaging may occur. These variations are normal and do not constitute a defect.
We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, substitute, or update products, ingredients, packaging, descriptions, and pricing at any time without prior notice.
3. Ingredients, Allergies, Skin Sensitivities, and Product Use
Our products are for external use only unless expressly labeled otherwise.
You are responsible for reviewing ingredient information on the product page, packaging, and labeling before purchase and use. Because skin types, allergies, and sensitivities vary from person to person, we do not guarantee that any product will be suitable for your specific needs, preferences, or skin concerns.
If irritation, discomfort, or an adverse reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately. If you have known allergies, sensitive skin, or medical concerns, consult a qualified medical professional before using any product.
Nothing on our website, product pages, emails, packaging, or related materials is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and nothing we provide should be understood as medical advice.
4. Orders and Order Acceptance
All orders placed through our website are subject to acceptance by us. We reserve the right to refuse, limit, cancel, or reject any order for any reason permitted by law, including suspected fraud, pricing errors, product unavailability, or order irregularities.
An order confirmation email means we received your order request. It does not mean that the order has been accepted or shipped.
If we cancel an order after payment has been processed, we will issue a refund of the amount charged as appropriate.
5. Pricing, Payment, Taxes, and Checkout Information
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without notice.
By placing an order, you agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing, shipping, and payment information. You authorize Ella’s Soapbox and its third-party payment processors to charge your payment method for the total amount due, including product price, applicable taxes, shipping, and any other disclosed charges.
If your payment cannot be processed, we may delay, suspend, or cancel your order until valid payment is received.
Applicable taxes may be added based on the shipping destination and applicable law.
6. Subscriptions and Automatic Renewal
Certain Ella’s Soapbox products may be offered on a recurring subscription basis.
Subscription Plans
Subscription details, including frequency, contents, scent or product preferences, and pricing, will be described at checkout. We may offer monthly or quarterly subscriptions, or other recurring options shown at checkout.
We may update subscription contents, packaging, or included products from time to time. Any material changes will be reflected for new orders and, when appropriate, communicated to active subscribers.
Automatic Renewal
By purchasing a subscription, you agree that your subscription will automatically renew at the interval selected at checkout unless and until you cancel.
Billing Authorization
By starting a subscription, you authorize Ella’s Soapbox and its payment processors to automatically charge your chosen payment method at each renewal for the then-current subscription price, plus applicable taxes and shipping charges.
Your billing date is generally the date you first subscribe, unless otherwise displayed at checkout. If a billing date falls on a day not present in a given month, your charge may be processed on the closest practical date.
Failed Payments
If we cannot successfully charge your payment method, we may retry the charge and your order may be delayed, paused, or skipped until payment is received. You are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method.
Subscription Changes
You may be able to update shipment preferences, billing information, or shipping information through your account portal, if available, or by contacting us at erin@ellassoapbox.com.
Changes must be made before your next billing date, or by any stated cutoff, to apply to the next subscription shipment.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, if available, or by emailing erin@ellassoapbox.com with your name and order details.
To avoid being charged for the next renewal cycle, you must cancel before your next renewal billing date. If a renewal charge has already processed, that cycle’s order may already be in fulfillment and may not be cancelable.
Cancellation stops future renewals only. It does not automatically entitle you to a refund for charges already processed unless required by law or expressly stated in these Terms.
7. Shipping and Delivery
We ship to the locations made available at checkout. Shipping fees, methods, and estimated delivery timeframes will be shown during checkout or otherwise described on the website.
Delivery dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Once an order has been transferred to the carrier, delays may occur that are outside our control.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. If a package is returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address, refused delivery, or repeated failed delivery attempts, we may require additional shipping charges before reshipping the order.
8. Risk of Loss
To the fullest extent permitted by law, title to and risk of loss for products pass to you when we deliver the package to the shipping carrier.
If applicable law in your jurisdiction requires a different standard, that law will control.
9. Returns, Refunds, and Replacements
Because soap, skincare, and personal care products are hygiene-related items, we may not accept returns of opened, used, or tampered-with products except where required by law.
If your order arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or incomplete, please contact us at erin@ellassoapbox.com within 7 days of delivery. Include your order number and photos, if applicable. We may, at our discretion and consistent with applicable law, offer a replacement, store credit, or refund.
Except where required by law, we do not guarantee refunds or returns based on personal preference, including scent preference, texture preference, color preference, or expected skin feel.
If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address or failed delivery attempts, we may reship it at your expense or otherwise resolve the issue in our discretion, subject to applicable law.
10. Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotions, coupons, discount codes, and special offers may be subject to limitations, including expiration dates, minimum purchase amounts, product exclusions, first-time customer restrictions, subscription restrictions, or limited-time redemption windows.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotions cannot be applied retroactively, are not redeemable for cash, and may not be combined with other offers.
We reserve the right to modify or cancel promotions at any time, subject to applicable law.
11. Accounts and Customer Information
If you create an account with us, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for restricting access to your account.
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information and to update it as needed. We are not responsible for losses arising from unauthorized access to your account resulting from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on the website, including text, graphics, branding, logos, product names, images, designs, downloadable materials, and other content, is owned by or licensed to Ella’s Soapbox and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, display, sell, or exploit any website content without our prior written permission.
13. User Submissions and Reviews
If you submit a review, comment, testimonial, photo, or other content to us or through the website, you grant Ella’s Soapbox a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable license to use, reproduce, publish, display, edit, and share that content in connection with our business, marketing, and website operations.
You represent that you own or control the rights to any content you submit and that your submission does not violate any law or the rights of any third party.
We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to remove or refuse submitted content at our discretion.
14. Communications
By placing an order or using the Service, you agree that we may send you transactional communications related to your order, shipment, subscription, account, or customer service inquiries by email or other electronic means.
If you sign up for marketing emails or promotional communications, you may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all products are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except where such disclaimers are not permitted by law.
We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free from harmful components.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ella’s Soapbox will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of the Service or purchase or use of our products.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to any product, order, subscription, or use of the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order or subscription cycle giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ella’s Soapbox and its owners, affiliates, service providers, contractors, and representatives from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, judgments, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to:
- your misuse of the Service,
- your violation of these Terms,
- your violation of any law or regulation, or
- your infringement of any third-party rights.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where consumer protection laws in your state of residence require otherwise.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date.
If changes are material, we will provide notice as required by applicable law. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
