A light oil that naturally contains vitamin E and adds a conditioning feel.

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil is quite a mouthful for something that starts as a sunflower seed. Helianthus annuus is the sunflower's government name.

Superhero or supervillain?

Superhero. Its superpower is a light, conditioning feel, and it naturally contains vitamin E, an antioxidant.

What it does in my soap

Sunflower oil adds a soft, conditioning feel to a bar and a gentle lather. It's a supporting player alongside the harder oils and butters. Once it's been made into soap, it shows up on the label as sodium sunflowerseedate.

Where you’ll find it

In 3 things I make.

Usually seen with olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil and cocoa butter.

Don’t judge an ingredient by its government name. Judge it by the science.
